Shallow retrofit
LETI Climate emergency retrofit guide, How existing homes can be adapted to meet UK climate targets, published by LETI in October 2021, defines shallow retrofit as: ‘A retrofit involving several, relatively minor interventions (e.g. loft insulation, cavity wall insulation) which may also include a change to the heat source and ventilations systems. This type of retrofit could be expected to realise no more than a 30% reduction in energy demand.’
